Benefits
Grape Ape, also called Purple Ape, is an acclaimed strain boasting a fruity, earthy flavour profile that lives up to its name. It offers a moderate THC content of roughly 18-22% and induces a calming, full-body experience while simultaneously uplifting the mood. This heavily indica-dominant plant is the result of a crossing of three esteemed traditional cannabis varieties.
Onset
The experience of Grape Ape is like indulging in a luxurious glass of fine wine – smooth, relaxing, and comforting. However, it kicks in slowly and might be easily underestimated, so remember to keep the consumption moderate – a little can go a long way with this strain.
Initially, the effects start with a gentle euphoria, fostering serenity and bliss. This tranquil state of mind seamlessly transitions into a soothing, full-body relaxation that wraps users in a warm, comforting embrace. It feels like spacey calmness, in which you are mellow and content, enjoying the moment.
In high enough doses, Grape Ape may induce a couchlock, so keep the consumption to an evening with close friends or during moments of solitude when you can truly appreciate its calming effects and let go of the day’s stresses.

Uses
Grape Ape offers a myriad of medical benefits thanks to its soothing properties. First, as a potent stress reliever, it can do wonders in helping you manage stress and anxiety. This strain can help facilitate deep sleep for those struggling with insomnia, thanks to calming myrcene. The high THC levels contribute to the strain’s analgesic properties, working in sync with anti-inflammatory caryophyllene, making it an effective option for patients suffering from chronic pain, migraines, muscle spasms, arthritis and many other conditions. Lastly, the gentle uplift that Grape Ape provides can help manage mild depression.
Side effects
Common mild side effects include dry mouth and eyes and a general sense of dehydration. In addition, some consumers, mainly those who are more sensitive, may experience dizziness. While paranoia and anxiety are not frequently reported, they may still occur with high-THC flowers, so moderate your consumption.
Besides, the deeply relaxing nature of Grape Ape can make users sleepy. For this reason, it’s best to reserve Grape Ape for those leisurely evenings when there’s not much on your agenda.
Taste & Smell
Grape Ape’s sensory profile is a true testament to its name. The dense, forest-green buds, sprinkled with purple hues, are adorned with a generous coating of sticky trichomes and fiery orange hairs.
Its enticing aroma blends sweet, ripe grapes with earthy undertones reminiscent of berry jelly candy. The taste mirrors the scent, boasting a medley of juicy grapes, berries, and lavender. The smoke is velvety and gentle on the throat, with a skunky, pungent aroma that lingers long after you are done enjoying it. This strain’s magnificent looks, taste and smell have undoubtedly contributed to its fame.

Origins
Grape Ape hails from the United States, where it was created in 2004 by Apothecary Genetics from three old-school varieties: Mendocino Purps, Skunk and an old Afghani cultivar. This exciting mix has resulted in a delicious strain combining the best of its predecessors that is loved for its unique properties and therapeutic potential.
Growing conditions
It is not too difficult of a task to grow Grape Ape, provided you give it the proper environmental conditions. The plant needs plenty of sunlight and a warm but not too hot temperature. Therefore, you can grow it outside in the Thai winter. Furthermore, you will not have to worry about diseases too much, as the plant is robust to common moulds and bugs.
The rewarding aspect of Grape Ape cultivation is the short flowering times and abundant yields. Within 7 to 8 weeks, these plants will grow to a short height of 1 metre on average and provide around 450 grams per square metre indoors and an astounding 750-800 grams per plant outdoors.
