Benefits

GMO Cookies should definitely be the choice if you are feeling adventurous and want to try a unique strain. This indica-dominant hybrid is famed for its garlic aroma and taste, which may sound unappealing, but comes out surprisingly enjoyable. With a respectable parentage from Girl Scout Cookies and Chemdog, the cultivar ensures an hours-long high that will deeply relax you without sweeping you off your feet.

Onset

GMO Cookies is not only pungent but also potent. With THC levels reaching up to 30%, the strain quickly boosts the mood and relaxes the mind and body. You will feel like you are floating on a soft cloud, wrapped in a blanket of positivity and inner peace. The whisper of euphoria will nudge the mind into a state of clear-headed tranquillity, making mundane tasks feel more engaging and thought-provoking. Writers, artists, or those seeking concentration amidst brain fog will appreciate this strain’s creative stimulation.

Unlike some Indica-heavy strains, GMO does not immediately plunge you into sedation but instead guides you gently towards a restful state. You will feel heavily stoned but rather functional, sheltered from all negativity, appreciating the moment. This versatile companion is perfect for late afternoon or evening use whenever you need to unwind.

If GMO’s balanced harmony resonates with you, strains like Granddaddy Purple or Bubba Kush may also hit the right notes. You may also explore our broad assortment of cannabis strains to find more cultivars with similar effects.

Uses

GMO’s medicinal prowess is as remarkable as its recreational appeal. The strain’s robust THC content, coupled with the presence of uplifting limonene, has potential therapeutic implications. It’s like a balm for the mind that can soothe symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression.

On the physical spectrum, its potent analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, supported by high caryophyllene and CBG (1%) content, may offer respite from chronic pain, migraines, and inflammation. GMO Cookies strain is also known to boost the appetite, which may be appreciated by patients struggling with nausea or eating disorders.

Side effects

As with most cannabis strains, GMOs may cause minor discomforts like dry eyes and cottonmouth. Some users may also experience dizziness, temporary paranoia and anxiety if the high THC content is not handled with respect. It’s crucial to approach GMOs with cautious curiosity, especially for those with a history of mental health issues. Begin with small doses and adjust according to your comfort level to avoid unpleasant experiences.

Taste & Smell

Skunky
Spicy
Earthy

You would be hard-pressed to find a strain that tastes or smells anything like GMO. The name “Garlic Cookies” aptly describes the scent – the first note you will get is freshly peeled garlic. The aroma is further enhanced by hints of coffee and pleasant earthy sweetness, making for quite a peculiar mix. While the garlic undertones can still be detected in the smoke, the prominent cookie flavour inherited from GSC takes over, resulting in a taste that surpasses the aroma. On the exhale, you may also notice a bit of coffee and spice that will take your mind to a fresh spice market.

Despite being indica-dominant, the buds of GMO display a typical sativa look with their large, long buds spotting deep green and purple hues.

Indica

Origins

GMO Cookies’ creators, Divine Genetics, gifted the cannabis world with this quirky strain by mating two loved, ever-popular strains, Girl Scout Cookies and Chemdog. The creation was initially called GMO, reflecting its immense power and the extensive engineering efforts behind it. However, to cater to cannabis lovers who prefer natural remedies, the name was eventually altered to GMO Cookies/ Garlic Cookies to remove the negative connotations associated with genetically modified organisms.

Growing conditions

The best option for cultivating GMO Cookies is to get a clipping of a mature plant for cloning since finding feminised seeds may be challenging. It can grow equally well indoors and outdoors, as long as you provide plenty of light and heat, so it will fit well in the Thai climate.

The strain is also low maintenance – the only thing you will need to do is regularly trim the top of the plant to ensure it is well-supported. GMO Cookies usually take around 10 weeks to flower, yielding about 450 grams per square metre indoors and 600 grams per plant outdoors.
