Benefits

Alien OG (also known as Alien OG Kush) is a hybrid star with an esteemed lineage of an OG Kush phenotype and Alien Kush. It has lit up the cannabis universe with its potent, almost extraterrestrial effects. Packed with THC levels that frequently reach the high 20s, this strain is not for the fainthearted. However, if used responsibly, it will provide a wonderful balanced experience, with plenty of cerebral stimulation and physical relaxation.

Onset

Alien OG owes its name to its out-of-world, extraordinary potency. The cerebral boost starts within moments of consumption, making your mind race and overflow with an abundance of ideas. It can indeed feel like a celestial trip, making you see everything more clearly and feel more deeply as time seems to pause for a while. You will be amazed at how smooth your work becomes after utilising the strain for tasks requiring creative thinking and effort. As the journey advances, the strain’s indica traits radiate, deploying an intensely relaxing sensation that dissolves discomfort and tension. Although the relaxation is profound, it doesn’t usually lead to a couchlock, meaning you can enjoy it in various settings and activities. Thanks to its versatility, Alien OG will be a great buddy for adventures with friends, as an afternoon pick-me-up or a post-dinner treat.

Uses

Alien OG could serve as a powerful medicinal aid due to its potency. It is a good ally in treating long-term and chronic stress, as it relaxes the mind and body, eliminating the accumulated tension due to stress. With the help of uplifting limonene and relaxing myrcene, the strain also benefits other mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, ADHD and potentially even PTSD. If time a couple of hours before bed, it can also help insomniacs drift off to sleep by clearing their mind of worries that might otherwise keep them awake.

Side effects

Alien OG is usually not associated with severe side effects despite its potency. You can typically expect dry, itchy eyes and a cottonmouth, but reactions like paranoia or dizziness are rare. Still, it is crucial to remember that high-THC flowers can cause symptoms of anxiety and paranoia, especially in those prone to these conditions. So remember to keep your consumption responsible and start with a single puff.

Taste & Smell

Earthy
Citrus
Pine

The buds of this strain exhibit a dense, rounded structure and boast a light green hue, beautifully complemented by prominent, thick red pistils. They are also abundantly covered in glistening trichomes that shimmer almost as brilliantly as celestial bodies.

Those familiar with the OG Kush scent will recognise its notes in Alien OG’s aroma. It has a woody, citrusy scent complemented by subtle earthy and piney notes. These make for a smooth-tasting, yet thick and pungent smoke, making your consumption difficult to hide.

When it comes to the strain’s flavour, it matches its fragrance quite beautifully. You will notice the earthy pine taste with a lemon twist on the inhale, turning into a sweet, velvety exhale with hints of spice and woodiness.

Indica

Origins

Hailing from the Bay Area of California, Alien OG is believed to be a cross between Alien Kush and Tahoe OG (a phenotype of the original OG Kush). Alien OG is undoubtedly as unique a strain as its name suggests and has become one of California’s most popular strains, loved for its potent yet balanced, well-rounded effects.

Growing conditions

Cultivating Alien OG requires loving care and dedication and may be challenging for novice growers. The plants are sensitive to temperature and humidity levels, requiring a rather stable environment of 20-25°C with around 50% humidity. In addition, the strain can be somewhat susceptible to mould and mildew due to a short, bushy structure. This will require regular trimming of the top fan leaves to allow sufficient light and oxygen to reach the lower parts of the plant. However, these difficulties are compensated for by the short flowering time of 8-9 weeks. You can expect yields of 300 grams per square metre indoors and 350 grams per plant outdoors.
