Benefits

Dubbed the “stinky socks” of cannabis cultivars, Cheese is an indica-dominant strain. Boasting 17% to 20% THC on average, it will make you feel elated and euphoric whilst profoundly relaxing your body. Cheese was bred from the most aromatic Skunk #1 phenotypes and quickly became famed worldwide for its distinctive scent and taste.

Onset

Despite its moderate THC content, Cheese packs a potent punch. While it is a heavily indica-leaning strain, its sativa effects are powerful, too. Within a few moments of consumption, you will feel a fantastic uplift that will make your day brighter. This new positive outlook on life makes users feel imaginative and empowered, giving them new creative ideas for their tasks and problems.

Cheese is a strain that combines the best of both worlds. While lifting your mind, it simultaneously profoundly calms your body. This may ease your body from any pain and tension, whether physical or mental, making you feel unstoppable. Unless you smoke a lot, you shouldn’t worry about a couch lock either – Cheese will leave you functional, happy and optimistic. Expect to laugh a big time – with such a great mood, every comedy or joke will seem funnier. This indica is excellent to share at parties or with your close friends and guarantees a good time. Uses

The versatility of Cheese helps with addressing various conditions. Its relaxing and anti-inflammatory benefits, bolstered by myrcene and caryophyllene, make it an ideal choice for individuals suffering from chronic pain, migraines, muscle spasms, and menstrual cramps, among other issues. The strain is a potent stress reliever that can help even the most tense users relax and unwind. Used at night, it can make way for deep, peaceful sleep. Lastly, as Cheese induces strong hunger, it will be helpful for anyone struggling with a lack of appetite.

Side effects

The most common adverse reactions to Cheese include dry mouth and dry eyes. Due to its potency, caution is advised when using this strain. In some cases, it has been known to trigger paranoia in sensitive individuals. Therefore, new users should proceed with caution and begin with small doses.

Refrain from smoking Cheese too early in the morning, as it might make you a little slow and sluggish.

Taste & Smell

Cheesy
Spicy
Skunky

Cheese’s charm undoubtedly lies in its unique, unmistakable aroma. It is reminiscent of pungent, aged cheddar cheese, with a subtle hint of earthiness and smokey, nutty aromas. The flavour is equally captivating, offering your palate a fusion of savoury and tangy flavours. The creamy, buttery taste is accompanied by undertones of herbs and spices, making each puff a delight for fans of regular cheese. You will feel the lingering skunk notes in your mouth long after smoking.

The appearance of the flower, on the other hand, is quite typical for an indica. Cheese buds are tiny, dense, tightly packed together, and finished with a generous sprinkle of trichomes.

Indica

Origins

Cheese’s story began in the late 1980s in the United Kingdom with the discovery of a rare phenotype of Skunk #1. This variant, a child of three landrace strains: an Afghani indica and the Acapulco Gold & Columbian Gold sativas, was notable due to its unique cheese-like aroma.

It was then crossed with one of its parents, likely Afghani, and gave rise to the iconic strain we know as Cheese today.

Growing conditions

Cheese has been dubbed as one of the best strains for beginner growers, and cultivating it should be a breeze. The biggest challenge is finding the plant seeds – you might have more luck getting your hands on Cheese clones.

The plant is low-maintenance, resistant to pests and diseases. You only need to do some regular trimming to ensure this short, dense, bushy indica can grow optimally.

It can thrive both indoors and outdoors, being quite versatile. Within 9 to 10 weeks, you can expect around 400 grams per square metre on indoor cultivation and about 600 grams per plant outdoors.
