Benefits

Sour Apple is a delicious indica-dominant hybrid loved for its scent, flavour profile, and balanced effects. It makes you happy and chatty while deeply relaxing your body at the same time. Sour Apple, scoring on average 16-22% THC, can pride itself on its fabulous lineage with Cinderella 99 and Sour Diesel as parents.

Onset

Despite the moderately high THC levels of the strain, it delivers a powerful impact. You will quickly get mentally stimulated and happy, with plenty of new, creative thoughts running through your brain. Naturally, you will want to share these ideas with others – that is why Sour Apple makes such a great social strain. It fosters deep conversations with your close friends, making you feel curious and at ease. On the other hand, if you need to get some work done, you can utilise this phase of the high, but be quick, as the physical effects of Sour Apple quickly become pronounced. A relaxing wave will wash over your body, releasing all stress and tension. This relaxation may eventually get so deep that you will find yourself unable to move from the couch. Therefore, consume the strain during evenings or lazy afternoons when you can fully rest and enjoy this peaceful tranquillity.

Uses

This strain is not just a sensory delight; it can also be an effective remedy, especially for patients with higher THC tolerance. First and foremost, it shines in treating stress, aided by the uplifting limonene. It can thus temporarily reduce anxiety and depression symptoms. With the help of calming myrcene, the strain also facilitates physical rest and deep sleep, making it a helpful insomnia medicine.

Lastly, users struggling with physical pains of any kind, be it migraines, muscle pains or fibromyalgia, will find relief in Sour Apple.

Side effects

Sour Apple is loved for how little adverse effects there are to its consumption. You can sometimes experience mild headaches and dizziness alongside dry eyes and mouth, but more severe reactions, like paranoia and anxiety, are extremely rare. Nevertheless, remember that high-THC flowers can potentially exacerbate mental health symptoms negatively. So always start with small doses and gradually build up your tolerance.

Taste & Smell

Sweet
Fruity
Citrus

Sour Apple earns its name from its distinct, tart aroma reminiscent of freshly baked apple pie. This delicious scent is accompanied by a diesel-like musk and a citrus undertone inherited from its Sour Diesel parentage. Its flavour profile mirrors this, treating your taste buds to an apple pie taste. It is so sweet that it feels almost like overripe fruit, but earthy and lemony tones balance the overall flavour.

As for the looks, these long, narrow buds are incredibly fluffy, with a bright green colour like its fruit namesake.

Indica

Origins

While this strain is primarily known for its fabulous flavour and aroma, it also has an impressive background. Top Shelf Seeds selected two special varieties to create Sour Apple: Cindy 99, a child of the staple Jack Herer and Shiva Skunk with the almighty Sour Diesel. With such a parentage, it is no wonder Sour Apple turned out such a treat.

Growing conditions

Growing Sour Apple is not too challenging and should also be possible for novice cultivators. Whilst they do well both out in the open and in a closed space, the difference in the achieved height can be staggering – on average, the plants will reach 1.5m indoors and up to 4 metres outdoors. If you are concerned about your neighbours and privacy, it is better to plant this one indoors. Either way, the plant will need loads of warmth and space to branch out.

Sour Apple will flower relatively quickly, in 7 to 9 weeks. Expect yields of 500 grams per square metre indoors and around 650-680 grams per plant outdoors.
