Benefits

Enter the mesmerising world of MK Ultra, a strain that delivers a hypnotic, almost psychedelic-like journey. This Indica-leaning hybrid, originating from blending iconic strains OG Kush and G13, serves as a powerful elixir to the mind and body. Boasting THC levels ranging from 18% to 25%, MK Ultra creates an unparalleled symphony of intense euphoria and physical tranquillity.

Onset

MK Ultra delivers a potent punch, warranting caution even for experienced users. You will feel its effects almost immediately, starting with some disorientation and a sense of euphoria. Your mind will feel heavy and slow, but it will be a delightful sensation as you enjoy the blissful moments in peace. Despite being a reasonably balanced hybrid, the strain’s indica effects take centre stage quickly, making your eyelids and body very heavy. You will soon end up glued to the couch without a care in the world. This mystical remedy leaves you appreciative of everything around you, but you will not have much drive to act on any of your ideas. MK Ultra will therefore be best enjoyed at night, facilitating deep relaxation and ease.

If you like such intense tranquillity, try out Granddaddy Purple or Northern Lights, too. Alternatively, browse more strain reviews here to find your best match.

Uses

MK Ultra can be utilised in a range of conditions. With myrcene’s help, this potent relaxant can ease stress in even the tensest individuals. As such, it aids those struggling with anxiety, mood disorders or insomnia. Furthermore, the euphoric mood it induces will temporarily wipe away depression. Lastly, the strain also shines in the treatment of pain – working together with the anti-inflammatory camphene and caryophyllene terpenes, it is greatly appreciated in conditions like chronic pain, arthritis, muscle pain and menstrual cramps, among many others.

Side effects

The most prevalent side effects of MK Ultra are dry mouth and dry eyes. Due to its potency, caution is advised, as it may trigger paranoia and anxiety in sensitive individuals. Always moderate your consumption to establish your tolerance levels.

Using MK Ultra early in the day may make you sleepy, so keep it to the evening hours.

Taste & Smell

Pine
Woody
Earthy

MK Ultra buds boast a dense structure, characterised by rich shades of green adorned with a generous coating of trichomes and vibrant orange hairs. The strain’s aroma is quite unusual, exhibiting a strong, burnt plastic scent with diesel earthy notes mixed with a dash of sweetness and citrus. This makes for a very pungent combination that tends to linger around, so if you are particularly concerned about privacy, look elsewhere.

Its taste is a pleasant combination of piney, woody and earthy flavours, reminiscent of typical dank marijuana.

Sativa

Origins

MK Ultra was developed by T.H. Seeds in Amsterdam, the pot capital of the world, by crossing OG Kush and G13. The cultivar inherited the legendary potency from its parents and, as such, got a name after the infamous CIA psychedelic mind control project. With such a name and powerful effects, no wonder the strain got such recognition – receiving the 1st Indica prize in High Times Cannabis Cup in 2003 and 2nd place a year after.

Growing conditions

MK Ultra is a relatively easy strain to grow. It likes a warm, sunny Mediterranean-like climate and can theoretically be planted indoors and outdoors. However, in order to maximise the yields, growing indoors is advised. The plants are rather compact, reaching around 100-120 cm, so they will fit in limited spaces. It takes 8-9 weeks to flower, yielding on average 340 grams per square metre indoors and a modest 170 grams per plant outdoors.
