Benefits
Gorilla Glue, also known as GG #1 and GG #4, is a potent cannabis strain that delivers a blow similar to that of a gorilla. Its high THC levels, reaching up to 22-28% and sometimes more, make it an absolute force of sedation, relaxation, and euphoria. As one of the strongest strains on the market, it has become quite popular over the years due to its ability to deliver a well-rounded experience that affects both – the body and mind.
Onset
Despite being a hybrid, Gorilla Glue displays more indica-like traits. Even the smallest of hits can lead to an instant and long-lasting kick, wherein you feel relaxed, uplifted, and peaceful. A wave of calming numbness takes over, helping you forget the day’s stresses. You can expect a strong body high, causing you to become glued to your seat and surrender yourself to a soothing experience.
Since there is a fair amount of THC in Gorilla Glue, you can also expect mental effects such as clarity, euphoria, and happiness. You will giggle and laugh on your way to a chill evening with nothing on your mind but relaxing, good vibes. Some users may find themselves with a slight surge in creativity (as is the case with high-THC flowers) – only to realise that they are locked to the couch to do anything about it.
Owing to GG’s sedating and tranquilising effects, it is best recommended for evening/night use. You can think of it as a stronger alternative to the iconic Northern Lights – especially for those with a sound THC tolerance.
Uses
Gorilla Glue is well-suited for users looking for something potent to help with their physical symptoms. Chronic pain, muscle spasms, loss of appetite, joint aches, back pain, and insomnia are among the leading conditions that GG can help treat. Women may also find relief from menstrual symptoms with this cannabis variety.
The flower can also help with mental conditions like stress and depression – but the doses must be monitored carefully. Since high-THC marijuana strains can induce paranoia and anxiety, taking it slow and steady is essential here.
Side effects
Gorilla Glue is not for beginners, who may find it unpleasant and overwhelming. Taking too much of it can lead to further stress and a bad trip. Some users may also experience dry mouth, dry eyes, dizziness, and paranoia.
Taste & Smell
They call it Gorilla Glue because of the sticky resins on the buds – your hands become gluey when you work with the flower. Covered in crystal trichomes, it has an unmistakable look of a snow-covered, red-orange cannabis flower with a dark olive-green shade.
It has a pungent, skunky odour which features a diverse mix of earthy, spicy, and diesel scents. GG also carries noticeable traits for Chocolate Diesel, which gives the users strong hints of chocolate and coffee aroma. The same also reflects in the flavour, which carries a delicious blend of earthy and pine notes with subtle sourness – thanks to its genes from Sour Dubble.
Origins of Gorilla Glue
Gorilla Glue, which arrived at the scene only in 2016, is the result of a happy accident at GG Strains, where the Chem’s Sister strain accidentally pollinated Sour Dubb. The resulting seeds were discarded, but some were saved by one of the growers. These seeds were then grown later, and after a bit of experimentation – which also saw the addition of Chocolate Diesel to the lineage – we now have this notoriously powerful strain.
Growing conditions
Gorilla Glue is not that hard to cultivate. Novice growers can expect a decent yield, while more experienced breeders can hope for the maximum. It has a flowering time of 8-9 weeks and does not require extensive maintenance. However, it can grow tall, so regular trimming and space constraints must be considered. Cutting tools are also needed as the resins from the buds can clog up your equipment. As for the output, you can expect 500-600 grams per metre square indoors and over 600 grams per plant outdoors.
