Benefits

Being a child strain of Gelato already sets the bar quite high – and when you add in the delicious Chocolate Kush, you know you can expect a marvellous flower. That is truly the essence of Truffle Butter – an indica-dominant variety loved for its unique flavour. With an average of 16-21% THC content, it is potent enough yet gentle – fostering calm, focused energy and plenty of happiness.

Onset

Despite being a predominantly Indica flower, Truffle Butter acts in a stimulating and uplifting way. Picture an almost instantaneous, gentle mental embrace that wipes away the daily hassle, gifting you renewed zest and enthusiasm. Simultaneously, an all-encompassing feeling of euphoria and bliss will take over your spirit, guaranteeing heaps of inspiration, motivation and generally – just having a great day, no matter what you choose to indulge in.

As hours pass, a warm bodily comfort emerges, softly relaxing your entire body. Yet, you do not have to fear the infamous couch lock; Truffle Butter lets you remain agile, both mentally and physically.

Another intriguing effect often associated with the strain is increased arousal, bringing lots of extra fun to a date night or a dinner with your better half.

Uses

Besides a spectacular taste and aroma, Truffle Butter also displays plenty of healing potential. All of its most prevalent terpenes – caryophyllene, humulene and ocimene, pack anti-inflammatory properties. This makes the strain a great ally for patients with various kinds of pain – from cramps and migraines to chronic pain. With its relaxing nature, Truffle Butter eases users into a calm state, which can help reduce insomnia and temporarily relieve stress, depression and PTSD symptoms.

Side effects

The potential adverse effects of consuming Truffle Butter are generally mild and mainly involve experiencing dry mouth and dry eyes. Individuals with a history of mental health issues or those sensitive to THC should exercise caution, as this strain can occasionally lead to temporary anxiety and paranoia. Always consume cannabis responsibly, starting with small doses and gradually adjusting them if necessary.

Taste & Smell

Fruity
Floral
Woody

Visually, Truffle Butter presents as colourful, densely packed buds – predominantly green, often spotting purple hues inherited from Gelato. These shades contrast with plentiful orange pistils and white trichomes, making the flowers a delight to the eye.

Interestingly for a strain named Truffle Butter, it does not have a mushroom taste or scent. Instead, you get a complex mix of decadent aromas: from caramel and coffee to nuts, all the way to sweet, fruity and floral influences.

The flavour is quite similar – and the caramel, chocolate and coffee notes complemented by fruity berries will make you feel like you are enjoying a laid-back coffee and cake afternoon at a cafe.

Indica

Origins

The Californian THClones knew what they were doing when they decided to combine Gelato and Chocolate Kush. Mixing two dessert-like strains resulted in Truffle Butter – a delicious bud that can be highly appreciated for its unique flavour. It is not easy to get your hands on this treasure, but once you do, you will remember its flavours for a long time.

Growing conditions

Growing your own Truffle Butter remains somewhat of a mystery. The official seeds have not been released, so it remains a clipping-only strain – and finding someone with a plant is a big challenge. Some informal information is circulating from those who managed to get their hands on a clone – suggesting that you can expect short plants between 60 cm-1 metre. The flowering time is usually around 9 to 10 weeks, and early reports indicate moderate to high yields of approximately 550 grams per plant outdoors and about 400 grams per square metre indoors.
